I Tried To Do My Best Job!

I love feel good stories...and ones about sports(in my opinion) are even better. Max Ramirez plays baseball for the Texas Rangers. A week ago he was playing minor league ball with no intention of making it to the big leagues this season. That was until the starting catcher (Gerald Laird) came up lame with a pulled muscle in his leg. Max got the call and to his surprise ended up in the starting line up against rival Houston Wednesday night. Not only did he play.....he ended up hitting the game winning home run. The story at this point may seem a little lame...and things like this happen all of the time, but it is what Max said after the game that got my attention.

"I can't believe it," Ramirez said. "It was so exciting. My first home run, my first game behind the plate, a really good game. I felt good behind the plate. I tried to do my best job."

Wow......I tried to do my best job. To me that is an awesome quote. Now take that quote and apply it to your life. Do your best job. We might not have an opportunity as exciting as Max's, but the truth is you never know when you are going to hit a home run. If you don't give a great effort daily, you will strike out for sure. So go out today and give it your all.....BATTER UP!
