I have not blogged in a while...but a friend motivated me today...so here goes!
Tons of teachers across Texas get ready for their students to take the TAKS test this week. Personally I hate this test. I feel that we should not measure our teachers or students on what happens one day on a test. That would be like measuring a sports team on only one game per year. Example...the New York Giants two years ago...they started the season 0-2...ended up Super Bowl Champions. If that team was measured on only one game, or even two....what would their accountability rating have been?
With that rant I say this to teachers everywhere. There is no doubt that you will succeed tomorrow or whenever your students test. The reason for my statement is simply PREPARATION! I used to tell my teams when I was coaching to not be nervous before a ballgame. I would say the only reason to be nervous is if we didn't PREPARE! So to my fellow teachers who have a big task at hand, remember....relax...don't be nervous...you have done your job, now let the kids do theirs. GOOD LUCK...YOU DON'T NEED IT....YOU PREPARED!
