I Was There!

You have been spared. I normally would have posted about the opening weekend of hunting season. However yesterday I got in on something special. I was on my Ranger riding around the ranch and my phone rang. It was my good buddy John Abendschan. John and I coached together at South Grand Prairie, and we have been friends ever since. He is the head coach at Saginaw Boswell. Coaches get free tickets to games and he ended up with two extra so......he hooked a brother up.

He told me that he had the two extra tickets to the Tech/Texas game. John said, "You are one of the only guys that I know that will drop everything and get to Lubbock in a few hours and go to the game." I told him to give me 5 minutes to call Steph to make sure and that I would call him back.

So I called Steph, told her that John had tickets.........She was thrilled and screamed into the phone and told me to meet her at the gate of the ranch and we would get to Lubbock. Thanks to her parents for taking care of the kids!

IT WAS AWESOME. The crowd never sat down and it truly was the game of the century. Steph and I had a blast. Here are some pictures from the event.
John and Sherry Abendschan...THANKS FOR THE TICKETS!
Tech running out before the game.
Get your guns up!
This picture is of nothing..but click it to enlarge then look at all of the cell phones taking pictures.
After three times of running on the field and almost costing us the game they finally got it right!
